The thinking man’s puzzle game, Tetris provides hours upon hours of entertainment that doesn’t make you feel like you’re wasting your brain on a shoot ‘em up game.

The average cost of video games available on the market these days will range on the type of system that you are looking to purchase. An Xbox 360 video game new can cost anywhere from 40 to 60 dollars brand new while used games can run from 10 to 40 per game.

A Playstation 3 New video game can run from 50 to 65.00 brand new in the store while used games generally will cost around 30 or more in a store who offers used games. If you are looking for a new WII game, you can expect to pay from 15 up to 50 per game. Depending on the store that you are shopping in, whether it is online or in an actual store, the game prices will vary.

A PSP and Nintendo DSI game will run from 20 upwards. If you are shopping for a computer game, you can expect to pay around 20 while some games depending on the size and graphics can cost you up to 75.00 per game.

As you can see, there are an assortment of prices that you can expect to pay for video games. Some of the games are worth purchasing as soon as they come out while some video games will drop in price pretty quickly resulting in a lower price within a few months and are worth waiting for. Depending on if you need the game right or away or you want it right away, will depend on how much you can expect to pay right away.

How many game systems are in your home? If you are like me I-d assume that you have more than one. I actually have four. I have my Playstation 3 which is my baby; it-s like one of my children. I-ve always had a version of the Playstation and I always will. I also have an X Box 360 which I own, but mostly because a lot of my friends own X Box-s so it-s the system I use when I want to play a game online with my friends. I have children too so I have to have a Nintendo Wii. The kids love the Wii and I do too. I can always count on Nintendo to offer a boatload of games that will keep my children entertained without the blood and gore graphics of the Playstation 3 and the X Box 360. As a parent I greatly appreciate this. Plus the Wii offers a great way for the family to all be with one another and game together so that-s pretty exciting.

My final console is my classic, it-s my Sega Genesis. I don-t play this much but from time to time I like to pull it out and play Joe Montana Football and see just how far the graphics have come. It-s something that people don-t believe that I still have but I love it.

So how many games systems do you have in your home?

While cyberspace is filled with popular online fantasy games, it-s hard not to single out “RuneScape’ with over 156 million accounts worldwide as the most popular Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) for 2011. At the very least, it can be proclaimed the most popular free online RPG. No less an authority than the Guinness Book of World Records has recognized RuneScape as such.

The action in RuneScape takes place in the medieval fantasy world of Geilinor, which is comprised of various towns, regions, and kingdoms. Each area contains challenges and quests the player can undertake. Traveling through the sprawling realm is accomplished by teleportation, ships, machines, and on foot. Game play is open-ended, meaning there is no linear storyline as such. Players are free to set their own goals and agendas; in effect, they make their story up as they go along.

Throughout the game, players can refine 25 skills that allow the accomplishment of various tasks. Real-time combat is important in the game since it allows players to retrieve dropped gold, gain experience and complete quests. While you can play the game for free as a non-member, full (paid) membership offers the player significant upgrades in options and game play. Visit their website to find out more. You thought this was good?

Video games are usually longer, more immersive, and more popular than are movies, especially among younger audiences. Players spend more time playing, and thus being influenced by, the games they enjoy. As such, the call for restraint gets made loud and often, with some suggesting that games deserve an official rating system similar to movies.

To put it bluntly, this argument is problematic at best and dangerous at worst. Movies get rated by an official board, staffed by people who are often given board positions in secret, who make their ratings in secret, and who tend to find no problem giving whatever torture movie or war-based kill-fest that happens to be out an R, but then tend to freak out when a penis is shown doing something penis-like. The board rules, assigns a rating to a film, and then distribution outlets (like theatres) are required to regulate who sees the movie according to the rating.

This is hardly a model we want to embrace in the game industry. Rating for maturity, as measured by some imaginary age-based cutoff, and tethering those ratings to particular moments in a game, approaches games incorrectly. Take a game like Limbo, a game all about the realm after death, full of all sorts of grizzly and macabre death scenes and some very, very creepy moments. There is no sex in the game, no cussing, and it plays like a platformer. A game like the original Zelda involves huge amounts of killing, as does Space Invaders. Halo has as much violence as Duke Nukem, but a lot less sex. How can these be rated based on age? They can’t be – at least not effectively.

Better that ratings for video games merely provide information about content: the game contains violence, cartoon violence, nudity, partial nudity, crude language, depictions of the afterlife, etc. Let the players, or their parents, sort out the rest.

What Is The Average Age Of Video Game Purchasers

From sports to dress up, obstacles to war…video games has it all. The thrill of interactive games have swept the world from early childhood to the well established adult. As with any trend and activity there is usually a certain generation that makes up the largest group of consumers. In the world of virtual games advertising executives appeal to a majority of demographics, but continue to take the younger generation by storm. High school students, and young adults make up the bulk of video game consumers. In high school beginning a first job, or throwing small get-together with friends pulls this group of consumers straight into the video game realm. Competitive gaming interests young adults and fills spare time. The range of games can satisfy and indulge the average college student to enjoy the wide range of excitement video games provide. Video game companies seem to aim more to this type of demographic by creating more and more age-related games. Next time you go to a video game store, look around, and see for yourself what type of demographic makes up this strong group of consumers, you might just be surprised.

There are a number of different video game systems available on the market today, so choosing the right one can sometimes be difficult. There is not one specific system that is better than all of the rest. However, it is a matter of personal preferences and the type of gaming that is done.

Features should be looked at before making a purchase. If the system is to be used by multiple people who are looking to play interactive games together, a console that offers multi-player games and interactive and multiple controller is necessary. Depending on the system, there may be between two to four controllers that can be used at once. Additional accessories and controllers may need to be purchased to got more players in the game.
Some systems allow the players to connect to the internet where they can watch movies, stream music, and play games with people around the world. If this is important, the system should have wireless capabilities and the home internet should be set up to handle the demand of the game system.

Take all of these things into consideration as well as all of the people who will be playing the game system. With some research, the perfect system will be purchased and the entire family can enjoy the games.
